AutoCAD Rendering Course

AutoCAD provides many tools for high-quality photo-realistic still renderings, including:

• A range of light options and controls
• Ray-tracing for shadows, reflections and refraction
• An Extensive library of materials
• Marble, timber and granite procedural shaders
• Texture, bump, opacity and reflection mapping
• A Sun Locator for "real world" shadows

Render is fully integrated into AutoCAD and works directly on the drawing file.

This is a Quick Shot course for building professionals such as architects, engineers,
planners and interior designers, for industrial and product designers and for any others
keen to produce photo-realistic images.

Ideally, attendees will have the ability and experience to generate 3D AutoCAD
surface-modelled and solid-modelled objects, although this is not a prerequisite.

Topics will include:

• Definition and placing of lights
• Creating and using materials
• Planar, spherical, solid and cylindrical mapping
• Raytracing and reflection
• Colour control of lighting and surfaces
• Shadow casting and Sun location
• Image file formats
• Hard copy output
• Techniques for quick results

On completion of the course, attendees can expect to have a good grasp of AutoCAD's
redering capabilities and be able to generate high-quality rendered images.
